Four steps
- 1
Export the board from monday.com
Open the board menu (the three dots), choose More actions, then Export board to Excel. Include subitems if the option is offered. - 2
Open Import a project in Planmoor
Sign in, choose Import a project from the dashboard, and upload the .xlsx file. Planmoor recognises the monday.com layout: a title row, then each group with its own header row. - 3
Check the preview
See the phases (from groups), items as tasks, subitems as subtasks, and which people match members of your workspace. - 4
Create the project
Name the project, set the client and dates, choose whether items with a done status are marked done, and create it.
How monday.com maps to Planmoor
- Groups become phases
- Items become tasks with their timeline, status and people
- Subitems nest under their parent item when included in the export
- Status values such as Done, Working on it and Stuck map to Planmoor statuses
- People are matched by email or name; unmatched ones can be invited in one click
After the import
Add dependencies between the tasks that need them and the critical path appears. Mark the deliverables as milestones, send the portal link to the client, and set up the scope of work for signature. The monday.com comparison covers what else changes.
Switch in one step

Questions people ask
- Which columns does Planmoor read?
- Name or Item, Person or Owner, Status, Timeline or Date, and Subitems when present. Other columns are kept where they map to a Planmoor field and ignored otherwise.
- Do timelines become start and finish dates?
- Yes. A Timeline column becomes the task's start and finish; a single Date column becomes the finish date.
- Can I import more than one board?
- Yes. Each board export becomes one project.
