Gantt chart
An online Gantt chart with critical path, built for client work

What is on the chart
- Phases as summary bars, with tasks and subtasks nested underneath (a work breakdown structure)
- Four dependency types with lag, drawn as elbows between bars
- The critical path, highlighted so you can see which tasks have no slack
- Milestones as diamonds, with their signature status when acceptance is required
- A today line, working days by region, and non-working days shaded
- Progress on each bar, rolled up to phases and the project
Scheduling that does the arithmetic
Drag a bar to move it and its successors follow. Change a duration and the finish date moves across working days, not calendar days. Add a dependency and the chart respects it; try to create a loop and it refuses. The critical path is recalculated on every change, so the answer to “what happens if this slips a week?” is the chart, not a meeting.
Baselines and variance
Save a baseline when the plan is agreed. From then on the chart shows each task's planned bar against its current one, and the variance report lists start, finish and duration slip by task and phase. When a signed change request shifts the schedule, Planmoor shifts the affected tasks and re-baselines the critical path, so the variance you report is against what the client agreed to, not against the original plan they already changed.
From a brief to a plan
You do not have to build the chart by hand. Write a brief, pick the delivery country and a methodology, and Planmoor scaffolds phases, gates, tasks with dependencies, milestones with acceptance criteria and the meetings that go with them. Or let the AI planner draft it from the brief and edit from there. A PRINCE2 project gets stages and end stage assessments; a PMBOK project gets process groups. Read about PRINCE2 support.
The same plan, four views
The Gantt, the board, the list and the calendar read the same tasks. Move a card on the board and the bar moves on the Gantt. The portfolio roadmap on Agency shows phases and milestones across every project on one timeline, for the question of what the studio is delivering this quarter.
Workload, time and cost on the same timeline
Each person's assigned hours per day are shown against their capacity, so over-allocation is visible before it becomes a late night. Logged time and cost rates feed the budget view, which shows planned against actual against budget for the project and each phase.
Getting plans in and out
Import from MS Project XML, Excel or CSV, or from Asana, Trello, monday.com, Jira and ProjectManager.com. Export to MS Project, Excel or CSV at any time. Your plan is yours.
The Gantt with critical path is on every plan, including Free. See pricing.
Questions people ask
- Is the critical path on the free plan?
- Yes. Gantt with critical path, board, calendar and milestones are on Free. Baselines and variance are on Pro.
- Can I import an MS Project plan?
- Yes. Save the plan as XML in MS Project and import it; the outline, dates, durations, predecessors and resources come across. Excel and CSV plans import too, with a column mapper.
- Which dependency types are supported?
- Finish-to-start, start-to-start, finish-to-finish and start-to-finish, each with lag or lead in working days.
- Does the client see the same Gantt?
- The client portal shows a simplified timeline of phases and milestones that reads from the same plan, so it is always current without exposing internal tasks.
