A Teamwork.com alternative for agencies that need clients to sign off

Teamwork.com is built for agencies, and it is good at the time and billing side. Planmoor is built for the client side: a portal without logins, e-signatures for scope, change requests and acceptance, critical path on every plan, and pricing with no user minimums.

14-day free Pro trial, no card needed. Clients are always free.

Where Planmoor is the better fit

  • Sign-off is in the plan. Teamwork tracks the work; Planmoor also gets it agreed. The scope of work, change requests, milestone acceptance and UAT certificates are signed online, and a milestone cannot close until it is.
  • A portal, not a client login. Teamwork client users sign in to a restricted version of the tool. The Planmoor portal is a link with only what a client needs.
  • No user minimums. A two-person studio pays for two seats on Planmoor Pro. Teamwork's paid tiers start at three and five users.
  • Critical path and baselines. The critical path is on every Planmoor plan; Teamwork does not state critical path support.
  • Proposals that start the project, and PRINCE2, PMBOK and IPMA templates that set up governance, documents and meetings together.

Where Teamwork is the better fit

Teamwork's billing, invoicing and budget features are more mature than Planmoor's, especially for agencies that invoice hours across many clients every month. They also offer a help desk and chat product in the same suite. If invoicing is your main pain and sign-off is not, Teamwork's Grow tier is a reasonable choice. Planmoor's retainers and profitability reporting cover the common cases, but we are honest that theirs goes deeper.

What switching looks like

Export the project's tasks from Teamwork to Excel or CSV. In Planmoor, choose Import a project and upload the file; the generic importer detects the title, dates, assignee and progress columns and lets you map the rest. Task lists become phases. The import guide explains the options.

Switch in one step

Export your Teamwork project, upload the file, and Planmoor rebuilds it as phases, tasks, dependencies, people and dates. Coming off a paid tool? Your first three months of Agency are free.

Pricing, side by side

Planmoor Pro is $9 a seat a month on annual billing, no minimum; Agency is $19. Teamwork.com, as of October 2026: Deliver at $9.99 a user with a three-user minimum and Grow at $24.99 with a five-user minimum, on annual billing. Questions people ask

Can I import from Teamwork?
Yes. Export a project's task list to Excel or CSV and upload it. Planmoor uses the generic importer with a column mapper, so task lists become phases and tasks keep their dates, assignees and progress.
Is Teamwork better for anything?
Teamwork has a deeper billing and invoicing module, a help desk product and years of agency-specific refinement. If your main problem is invoicing hours across many clients, their Grow tier does that well.
What does an agency gain by moving?
E-signed scope, change requests and acceptance bound to milestones, a portal the client never has to log in to, critical path on every plan, and no three- or five-user minimum.
